High School PROGRAM
Open to high school and rising high school athletes looking to prepare for upcoming seasons or to excel to the next level of their development. This program offers instruction and training by coaches in all track and field events, with specialization in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, middle distance, and distance. Practice sessions are held year round, but do vary with the season.

The WTC summer program is focused on the high school and Middle school athlete who seeks to develop speed and power or continue their middle distance / distance development. Training is centered on improving sprint mechanics, technique, and best practices. Middle distance and distance will focus on preparation for cross country while developing foundational strength and speed. Spring and jump training session could include weight sled work, resistance bands, bounding, starting block instruction, etc. These aids will develop the strength and coordination needed for the young athlete to develop in their chosen sport. Distance programming will include resistance training as well as base development. All groups will be exposed to concepts for general athletic development including fueling, sleep, and mental modeling.
Coaches instruct and teach the athletes how and why the movements and drills will improve their performance. We use video for feedback and the Freelap Timing system to measure the athletes progress. The athletes will find the training informative and most importantly...fun! All groups are co-ed.
Our Club’s Summer Track and Field Program is underway and will continue every Sunday (at 6:00). Monday and Thursday (at 6:00 ). Practices are held at Newton North High School and/or Leary Field in Waltham.
